The Tule River Historical Museum is open to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays with no admission charge. The museum houses a collection of vintage lumber mill and farm equipment. Antiques from local families are on display in the 1860 Murphy House and in the main museum. FRIDAY

Lindsay Night Market has started for the 2018 season, and will continue through the fall. The market is held each Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. in downtown Lindsay. It features food, vendors and other activities.

Main Street concert series is held each Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Centennial Park across from City Hall. The concerts, which feature local talent, are free. Attendees are advised to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

First Christian Church

holds Breaking of the Bread women’s ministry every Friday night at 5:30 p.m. The breaking of bread celebratio­n includes potlucks, worship, craft projects and fellowship. These meetings take place at First Christian Church located at 1020 N. Prospect Street. For more informatio­n, call 784-1975.

PHS Drama Dept. to present James and the

Giant Peach. The Portervill­e High School Drama Department transports us to a land of magic and make-believe as they present a musical version of the children’s fairy tale, James and the Giant Peach. There will be three public showings, with one evening show on Friday, November 9, at 7 p.m., and two performanc­es on Saturday, November 10, at 2 p.m. Matinee, and 7 p.m. evening performanc­e. Ticket prices are $1.00 for children and students, and $5.00 for adults. All shows will take place on the Frank “Buck” Shaffer Stage in the Portervill­e Memorial Auditorium located at 415 West Olive Avenue in Portervill­e. Marine Breakfast at the

Cellar. Calling all past and present Marines! In honor of the Marines Corps birthday, The Cellar will be hosting a breakfast and cake cutting ceremony on Nov. 10. Marines from all walks of life are encouraged to attend this celebratio­n. A traditiona­l breakfast of toast with gravy and sausage will be served at 8 a.m. followed by a cake cutting ceremony. Gary is a retired Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, an expert birder and very knowledgea­ble about interestin­g aspects of bird and animal behavior. A Night Of Salsa. The University of California San Francisco - Alzheimer and Memory Center and the Portervill­e Valley Adult Day Services is proud to introduce a fresh and innovative event “A Night Of Salsa” where we are mixing salsa lessons with a dementia seminar and resource fair for the Hispanic population.
