Linda Ann Blackburn Davis July 17, 1941 - February 16, 2019

-

Linda spent her early childhood on a farm in Kansas. She attended a small, one room school and had only one teacher, Mrs. Garver, from kindergarten through the eighth grade. Her freshman year was spent in Mccune High School.

The family moved to California in 1956. Their first home was at the Woodville Labor Camp for a short period of time before moving to Poplar, Ca where her father began his career as a blacksmith and she became a student at Porterville Union High School as a sophomore.

She graduated from P.U.H.S in 1959 as a member of the California Scholarship Federation (CSF) Honor Society. She enrolled at Porterville Junior College majoring in business.

It was around this time that Milt Davis entered her life and on February 11, 1961 she became Mrs. Milt Davis.

June 15, 1962 she brought Bradley Sean into the family and on October 27, 1964 Kent Andrew completed the family.

Linda began working for Allied Insurance Agency, then Richard Hubler, O.D. and the California Highway Patrol.

Milt had been working for Safeway and over the years she noticed Milt's enthusiasm for his work beginning to wane so she asked him and he confirmed that he wasn't happy with his work, she suggested he go to college, he enrolled in Fresno State College.

Two years later in 1972 he had his degree and the family was on their way to Arizona. She considered the part of Arizona to be desolated and gave him six weeks to fine her somewhere decent to live or she was taking the boys and going back to California. He got her a place to live and they spent the next eight years in Arizona where she made many life long friends.

She enjoyed being a 4-H leader, bowling and raising her sons. They returned to California in 1980 and resumed as an Optometrist Assistant.

She and Milt developed a love for travel and were able to make many trips together. After Milt had open heart surgery in 2004 she retired to take care of him.

Besides having many friends she had been a member of 20 Ands and PEO.

Linda was preceded in death by her first born, Bradley Sean, parents Joe R. & Saretha L. Blackburn.
