The Lady Hawks from Sequoia Middle School capped off their undefeated season with wins against Alpine Vista 51-21 in the semifinals and 51-8 vs Live Oak in the finals to win the Whitney League Championsh­ip. The girls put together one of their best season performanc­es in the final with unselfish play and great passing. Varsity returners Morgan Hunter, Joslen Jimenez, Andrea Perez, Jaaci Patterson and Neanea Fields finished their middle school campaign with 21 wins and 1 defeat in their twoyear career. Alisha Verdejo was a huge addition to the varsity squad starting all 11 games this year as a seventh grader. Also contributi­ng to this year’s championsh­ip were Greenly Wilson, Sara Gutierez, Doreen Ellis, Tiffani Boungivong, Zahra Rayani, Danielle Russell and Janae Espinoza.
