The Lady Hawks from Sequoia Middle School capped off their undefeated season with wins against Alpine Vista 51-21 in the semifinals and 51-8 vs Live Oak in the finals to win the Whitney League Championship. The girls put together one of their best season performances in the final with unselfish play and great passing. Varsity returners Morgan Hunter, Joslen Jimenez, Andrea Perez, Jaaci Patterson and Neanea Fields finished their middle school campaign with 21 wins and 1 defeat in their twoyear career. Alisha Verdejo was a huge addition to the varsity squad starting all 11 games this year as a seventh grader. Also contributing to this year’s championship were Greenly Wilson, Sara Gutierez, Doreen Ellis, Tiffani Boungivong, Zahra Rayani, Danielle Russell and Janae Espinoza.
