Family with Porterville ties celebrates 5 generations
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — It’s not often a family can assemble five generations in one seating, but the Randolphs did it.
The gathering marked the bringing together of Twila Randolph with her great-great-granddaughter, baby Clairen, who was born on December 16, 2018.
The Randolphs all got together in Klamath Falls, to celebrate Twila’s 85th birthday and also Clairen’s 8 month birthday on August 16. Greatgreat-grandparents, Clain and Twila Randolph, who celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this year, traveled from Porterville, for the get together. It brought together for the first time, the five generations of first born women, Twila (Claudson) Randolph, great-greatgrandmother; Brenda (Randolph) Green, greatgrandmother, Stacey (Green) Powless, grandmother; Shayna Powless, mother; and Clairen Idrogo, daughter. There were 17 family members in attendance for Twila’s birthday celebration.
“She was thrilled,” Shayna said, although Twila had been clamoring to see the baby ever since she had been born.
There’s 84 years and 4 months between the baby and her greatgreat-grandmother. Clain and Twila have a total of three daughters, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and the new great-great grandchild and they were overjoyed to become great-great-grandparents. Twila was born in Grants Pass, Ore.; Brenda was born in Lakeview, Ore.; Stacy was born in Porterville; Shayna was born in Klamath Falls, where Clairen was born also. In fact, of the five living generations, all but one, great-greatgrandmother Twila, call Klamath Falls home.
