PAA to hold board elections
The Porterville Art Association located at 151 North Main Street, Porterville is gearing up for its Board of Directors elections to be held in April and May. Voting members elect new/returning Board members for the art association.
The Board of Directors elections process involves multiple candidates running for multiple available seats on the Board such as President, Vice-president, Secretary, and Treasurer. A seat on the Board of Directors is an opportunity to participate in the future of our organization.
The Board is a governing body that meets every first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the Board Room to set policies for organization management and oversight. A seat on the Board of Directors is a prestigious opportunity to participate in the future of our organization.
In addition to their contribution of fresh ideas, the Board gains diverse experiences and broadens their perspective by working closely with fellow leaders who bring their fresh perspectives to the Board as well.
Those interested in serving on the board should attend the next Porterville Art Association Board meeting in the Board Room on Wednesday March 4 at 10 a.m.
The Board of Directors elections are one of the most important duties that Boards have. Some responsibilities include: Forming a Board with a high caliber of directors creating a synergy in the Board Room that produces the highest potential for innovative and progressive results.
Also, strategic planning, accounting and finance, business development, event planning, membership development, Robert’s Rules of Order, By-laws, policies and procedures, minutes, formal orientation, networking with key individuals, improving communication, optimism for the future, organizational guidelines, non-profit issues. All Board meeting are open to the public.
