Three arrested on theft charges
On Sunday shortly after 3 p.m., Porterville Police Department Patrol Officers were dispatched to Kohl’s, located at 1275 West Henderson Avenue, regarding a theft that just occurred.
The reporting party advised the suspects had left in a vehicle and a description was provided including the license plate. The vehicle was determined to be reported stolen from the Visalia area.
Porterville Police Department Special Investigations Unit Detectives were in the area and observed the suspect vehicle at which time they conducted a traffic enforcement stop. The driver, later identified as Gary Hanson, was taken into custody along with passengers Leticia Ontiveros and Maria Analla.
During the search of the vehicle stolen merchandise was located from Kohl’s along with several local businesses valued at approximately $1,200. Additionally, Hanson was in possession of burglary tools and on active probation and Ontiveros had an active arrest warrant for theft.
Gary Hanson was arrested and booked at the Tulare County Sherriff’s Office South County Detention Facility for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, Possession of Burglary Tools, Violation of Probation, and Grand Theft. He’s being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Leticia Ontiveros was arrested and booked at the Tulare County Sherriff’s Office South County Detention Facility for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property,
Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, Grand Theft and arrest warrant. She’s being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Maria Analla was arrested and booked at the Tulare County Sherriff’s Office South County Detention Facility for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, and Grand Theft. She’s being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
