Typical PUSD Antics – No on Measure L

-

I find it very amusing to listen to PUSD and their Pro Measure L supporters continue to ask the taxpayers to forget/ disregard/ignore the roughly $7 million that PUSD has paid for trustee benefits over the last 14 years (including 2019).

A practice that will continue moving forward with no end in sight. They say we no longer offer these benefits to new board members. They say we legally cannot stop this practice (like anyone is buying that story). They say that roughly $7 million isn’t that much money.

Well when you are asking taxpayers to pony up more than $33.4 million over the next 25 30 years, $7million is no small amount. Not for hard working taxpayers who are frankly sick and tired of having their hardearned money used to benefit a select privileged few PUSD trustees.

Remember that these very PUSD trustee voted themselves these benefits. Taxpayers who have to pay this bill had no say in the matter. My support for working class families and my opposition to these PUSD tax increases has seen me personally attacked by PUSD and their supporters.

I have always been willing to debate the merits of each issue respectfully but PUSD has always chosen a different route. Personal attacks are just how PUSD and their supporters operate in their desire for more and more of your tax dollars.

PUSD, like every school district, uses the same tired talking points to get a yes vote on their measures. Leaky roofs, faulty wires, it’s for the kids, the kids. Well if it is really for the kids than stop spending millions and millions of dollars on a few past and present board members benefits. Direct those resources (that are so badly needed according to your talking points) towards improving the school district. These millions of dollars that have been spent and will continue to be spent with no end in sight could greatly benefit PUSD.

I will continue to rally against these bond measures until this horrendous, disgusting and wasteful practice is stopped at PUSD. FYI – PUSD is the only school district in Tulare County that is paying for these Cadillac benefits for LIFE to past trustees who have not served on the board for years. The personal attacks just highlight to everyone the true nature of PUSD and their rampant desire for more money.

Remember when the time comes to vote on Measure L that PUSD has no plans to stop paying the millions and millions of dollars that they pay to their select few past and present board members. Yet, they will always come asking you for more and more money. Vote NO on Measure L.
