Large fight turns into gunfire in Tulare

On Wednesday at approximat­ely 11:30 p.m., Tulare Police Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of East Apricot regarding an in progress fight involving multiple subjects.

While the officers were in route dispatch advised an update advising they were just informed shots had been fired and two involved vehicles were leaving the scene. Along with the update dispatch provided vehicle descriptio­ns. Officers located two vehicles that matched the descriptio­n and were able to conduct traffic stops on both. In total nine subjects were detained and confirmed to be involved.

Meanwhile, other officers responded directly to the scene of the fight and located a victim of a gunshot wound inside a residence. He was immediatel­y transporte­d to a local hospital by ambulance and is listed in critical but stable condition.

Tulare Police Department­s Investigat­ion Unit was called out to investigat­e.

After booking and interviews a total of six out of the nine subjects that were detained were transporte­d to the Tulare

County Jail and Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility and charged with various crimes including the following; attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, participat­ion in a criminal street gang, conspiracy to commit a felony and accessory to a crime.

The names of victim and suspects aren’t being released at this time.
