We’re right in the heart of the Hallowthanksmas season. I hope the people I have referred to in this column continued their tradition by celebrating all four major holidays simultaneously.

I hope they hunted for Easter eggs under the Christmas Tree in their Halloween costumes on Thanksgiving. That’s just brilliant.

As brilliant as the idea of making firewood smell like KFC. Because you know someone who’s sitting next to a fire that smells KFC will eventually want some KFC.

With that in mind it seems Play-doh is trying to help Starbucks and other coffee and food places this Hallowthanksmas season. The trend this Hallowthanksmas season is toys for adults since adults have been stuck at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

So there’s now Play-doh for adults that have adult-type smells such as lattes, fresh cut grass and smoked meats. (I have to admit I do love the smell of fresh cut grass). No word on if there’s any Play-doh that smells like KFC.

Lego is also getting in on the idea as they designs for adults as well. And there are coloring books for adults as well.

I’ve also heard the trend of planking is coming back during this Hallowthanksmas season. Remember planking? I thought that was so 2012.

I thought planking was about as pointless as Hacky Sack (Remember Hacky Sack)? But apparently planking is more beneficial to the body as exercise than say sit-ups or push-ups, so planking evidently is making a comeback.

Another trend is real Christmas trees are also making a comeback. It’s not surprising as difficult as 2020 has been, people are looking for something that’s more real in their lives like real Christmas trees. As much as I like those Balsam Hill commercials for artificial Christmas trees telling me about the tradition of artificial Christmas trees, there’s nothing like a real Christmas tree.

But I have to admit, artificial Christmas trees definitely serve a purpose. It’s like how I feel about natural grass and field turf. I prefer games to be played on natural grass, but I definitely think field turf has its place.

Now if Balsam Hill partnered with KFC to sell artificial Christmas trees that smell like KFC, I think that would be a brilliant idea.

I think another brilliant idea would be for Balsam Hill to sell a Hallowthanksmas artificial tree complete with Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations. You could just put it up in, say, mid-august, and leave it up until New Year’s Day.

I’m going to lunch now. Even though there’s a bunch of leftovers, for some reason I feel like KFC. I wonder why?
