To Granite Hills High School’s Max Jimenez who has signed to play football at La Verne University.

To the Tule River Indian Housing Authority who was awarded a $5 million grant to provide affordable housing.

To Blaine Smothermon, founder of the non-profit Freedom First America, Portervill­e City Councilman Daniel Penaloza, Alianza Ecologista and all the volunteers who organized and participat­ed in Saturday’s Community Clean-up Day.

To the Lindsay Unified School District who received $10,000 in services from Fed-ex to help provide supplies while dealing with COVID-19 challenges.

To Casey Rangel who has been named as Burton Middle School’s new principal.
