Porterville outgolfs Strathmore in country club duel

Porterville High School boys golf defeated Strathmore 255-302 in a match Wednesday at River Island Country Club.

For Porterville, Breken Ramage shot a 49, Carson Wallace a 50, Atticus Nunez a 47, Ramon Martin Del Campos a 54, Mason Shiers a 55 and Lane Guinn a 65.

“We had a few different players today vs Strathmore,” PHS head coach David Herrera. “Our score wasn’t as low as last time time but we are making great progress on the different skills we have been focusing on. I believe that we are going to drop our scores just in time for the start of league next week.”

For Strathmore, Eric Borba led the team with a low score of 50.

“All the boys have been improving,” SHS head coach Daryl Lee said. “Landon Mckinney lowered his score by seven strokes,jay Dillon eight strokes and Jacob Anderson was 10 strokes better. I am proud of the boys for working hard.”
