Active cases drop

According to the most recent COVID-19 statistica­l report released by the Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency (TCHHSA) on Wednesday afternoon, the overall number of active cases decreased by 10 over Tuesday’s report. Since March 11, 2020 there have been 49,444 cases in Tulare County.

The total number of deaths in Tulare County due to COVID-19 is 831.

The county has data on 829 deaths of which 625 were ages 65 and older, 187 were ages 41-64 and 15 were ages 2640. There have been two deaths under the age of 26, one a young adult and one a child who died due to complicati­ons with COVID-19.

There have been 193 deaths related to nursing homes and 636 deaths not related to nursing homes.

The number of active cases continues to drop, and TCHHSA reported a decline of 10 active cases on Wednesday. There are now 252 people in Tulare County who actively have cases of COVID-19.

As active cases drop, recoveries continue to rise. The health department reported an increase of 11 recoveries over Tuesday’s report, bringing the total number of individual­s who have recovered after testing positive for COVID-19 to 48,361.

Since March 11, 2020 there have been 10,021 cases in the Portervill­e area, 43 cases in foothill-mountain communitie­s, 162 cases in Springvill­e, 719 cases in Terra Bella, 621 cases in Strathmore, 1,798 cases in Lindsay, 8,791 cases in Tulare, 4,222 cases in Dinuba, 330 cases in Richgrove, 81 cases in Alpaugh, 785 cases in Pixley, 367 cases in Tipton, 1,456 cases in Earlimart, 1,167 cases in Farmersvil­le, 1,048 cases in Exeter, 55 cases in Three Rivers, 919 cases in Woodlake, 751 cases in Cutler, 1,474 cases in Orosi, 91 cases in Goshen, 269 cases in Traver, 60 cases in the Reedley area, 23 cases in Orange Cove and 502 cases in Ivanhoe.

In Visalia there have been 5,411 cases in one region, 3,548 cases in another region and 4,276 cases in a third region.

There have been 7,412 cases ages 0-17, 7,680 cases ages 18-25, 13,856

cases ages 26-40, 15,330 cases ages 4164 and 5,139 cases ages 65 and older.

There have been 27,631 cases who have been Hispanic, 6,962 have been Caucasian, 993 have been Asian, 354 have been African American, 330 have been Native American, 1,642 have been multirace and 11,532 are unknown.

vaccines, as of Monday, Tulare County has received a total of 284,545 vaccine doses. The total number of people who work or live in the county and have received at least one dose of the vaccine is 141,876.

As of Monday, 1,788 doses went to those ages 0-17, 63,057 doses to those ages 18-49, 38,437 doses to those ages 50-64, and 38,567 to those ages 65 and older.

There have been been administer­ed to Hispanics, 38,978 doses have been administer­ed to Caucasians, 4,008 doses have been administer­ed to Asians, 1,028 doses have been administer­ed to African Americans, 336 doses have been administer­ed to Native Americans, 11,359 doses have been administer­ed to those who are multi-race, 7,427 doses have been administer­ed to those who identify as other, and 7,403 doses have been administer­ed unknown ethnicitie­s.

Sierra View Medical Center reported it five COVID-19 patients on Wednesday. Sierra View should still have more COVID-19 patients in the coming days as it did report it has 11 patients suspected of having COVID-19.

Sierra View reported three of its 10 ICU beds were in use. Sierra View reported two of its 19 ventilator­s were in use.

Sierra View also continued to report it now has no employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 as all 174 of its employees who tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered. Sierra View has had a total of 1,210 positive tests.
