To the Changalas for once again providing their Pumpkin Patch to families and youth in the area.
To Nate Wobrock for donating the building at 195 North Hockett to be used by Porterville Little Libraries as a Book Bank to store a large number of books that have been donated to the organization.
To Ralph Bourne and the Barn Theater for putting on another outstanding Buzzard Festival as the theater welcomed back a large number of buzzards with outstanding music. The Barn Theater is also in need of help from the community in its effort to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic. To Monache’s FFA Department for putting on its Fall Harvest Festival providing a large selection of plants and pumpkins. The event is being held again today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school farm off of Mulberry.
To the Woodville Union School District for receiving the Clean Energy Champion Award from Southern California Edison.
To the Porterville Union High School Class of 1951 who recently celebrated their 70th reunion.
To Sierra View Medical Center for earning the distinction as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
To Lupe Trejo for being named Homecoming Queen and David Torres for being named Homecoming King at Granite Hills High School and to Paola Lopez Beltran for being named Homecoming Queen and Tony Castillo for being named Homecoming King at Monache.
To the Bank of the Sierra for partnering with the Porterville Fire Department in conducting a safety drill to help the fire department stay ready in case of emergencies.
To Maria Ferrumpau, who in her 80s was on a large ventilator, but was able to recover from COVID-19 after being treated at Sierra View Medical Center.
