Maria L. Singleterry-torres (Marylou, Mary)
Maria Louisa Singleterry – Torres (Marylou, Mary), age 56, a resident of Lindsay, CA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 1, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Marylou, born on January 7, 1965, to Ruben and Lupita Singleterry in Texas, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Maria went on to graduate from Pharr-san Juan-alamo (PSJA) in 1983 as a proud Bearette. After graduating from high school, Maria went on to further her education in the medical field.
Maria fell in love with Nursing, which kicked off an over 14 year stint in the field as a Certified Nursing Assistant. This was a fantastic field for her as she had been a natural care giver since she was a very young age.
After High School, Maria met Robert Torres and the two were inseparable from that point on. Maria and Robert Torres were married for over 35 years and had 2 children, James Michael Torres and Nicole Ashley Torres.
Maria was fiercely dedicated to her family, she took great pride and accomplishment in caring for all of her family including but not limited to her siblings, her nieces and nephews, her own children, and her grandkids. Family and God came first and was above all else to Maria, the values she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence will be impossible to fill.
Maria is survived by her husband Robert Torres, her children James Michael Torres and Nicole Ashley Torres and her grandkids James Michael Torres Jr., Melanie Ava Torres, Edward Andrew Gonzales and Angel Padron.
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Webb Sanders & Smith Funeral Home in Lindsay, CA.
The Viewing will be held At Webb Sanders & Smith Funeral Home from 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM with a Rosary starting At 6:00 PM on Monday, January 31, 2022.
Mass will be held At Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 AM On Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
Following the Mass we will be hosting a Celebration of Life at Lindsay Memorial Building from 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM the family has invited all that would like to attend.
