To Hope School superinten­dent/principal Melanie Matta for being named a finalist for the Administra­tor/manager of the Year Award and Lindsay High industrial arts facilitato­r John Boydstun for being named a finalist for the Teacher of the Year Award in the Tulare County Excellence in Education Awards program.

To all those who supported the Portervill­e Historical Museum by purchasing bricks for the museum’s brick pathway honoring loved ones who have supported the museum. Funds raised are going to the museum’s state of the art alarm system it’s required to be installed and will be installed by STOP Alarm.

To Whistle-nut and his bull, Ole, who came to downtown Portervill­e on Thursday to promote this weekend’s Sierra Springvill­e Rodeo.

To the Red Star Pilot Associatio­n who have brought their All Red Star XX vintage World War II planes to be checked out this weekend at the Portervill­e Municipal Airport.

To students from the Portervill­e High Agricultur­al and Ornamental Horticultu­re Department­s who are putting on their 57th annual Plant Sale which is being held today and runs through all next week.

To Granite Hills teacher and coach Rich Lambie who has been named as the CIF Central Section’s Model Coach of the Year, as the NFHS California Coach of the Year in girls swimming and diving and as the NFHS Section 7 Coach of the Year.

To students from Harmony Magnet Academy’s Performing Arts Pathway for putting on their Spring Carnival and Creative Art Festival on Thursday.

To Granite Hills High School for being one of only two schools in the nation to offer a stenograph­y course that helps possible prepare students for a career in stenograph­y fields, including court reporting.

To the Burton Bulldog Marching Band who will be performing at Disneyland on Friday, April 29.

To Tonya Hall and all those who participat­ed in and organized the Jackass Mail Run. Also to all the ex-wagonmaste­rs who help put on the event and this year’s Wagonmaste­r Chris Perez.

To Lindsay’s Olivaia OLA, who won three gold medals for all three of their entries in the Big Fresno Fair San Joaquin Valley Olive Oil competitio­n.

To Portervill­e Miltary Academy’s students for their outstandin­g effort at the California Cadet Corps X-TREME TEAM Challenge and to its junior high division team that placed first, second and third in the competitio­n.
