Paul Betts

Paul Betts of Terra Bella, passed suddenly on March 29, 2022 after a brief illness. He was born October 15, 1951 to Frederick Post and Mary Edith Betts in Porterville CA. He attended Terra Bella Elementary and Porterville High Schools graduating in 1970. After graduating Paul continued working on the family citrus farm and for Jim Carlisle of Ducor. Paul went on to have a long career with the Tulare County Road Department eventually transferring to El Dorado County where he enjoyed spending more time plowing snow. Paul’s love for tractors and harvesting lead him to spend his summers in Montana working for the Weaver & Stahl families. Upon on retirement from the Road Department, Paul made the move to Roundup, Montana full time. Nothing made him happier than to be on a tractor with a full day of work ahead of him. Upon meeting his longtime companion Janice Flowers, he moved to Nampa, Idaho while still returning to Montana often to continue working in custom harvesting. Paul and Janice had recently moved back to the area, settling in Ducor, CA, where he continued working in custom farming/ harvesting.

Paul is survived by his daughter Erin Betts (John Haenny) of Springville, sisters Christine Betts Lake of Rocklin, CA, Shirley Moore of Bakersfield, CA and companion Janice Flowers of Ducor. He will be missed by long time friends Tony Forner and family of Porterville, and Calvin & Edie Weaver & The Stahl family both of Roundup, Montana.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Bernie Wolfram and sister Katharine Betts Kos. No local services will be held, however a celebration of life will be held at a later date in Montana. The casting of ashes will take place in his beloved Roundup, Montana.
