Charles Wendell Bishop passed away on February 6th, 2022, in El Dorado Hills, California. He was 72 years old.

Born on August 25th, 1949 to Wendell and Florence Bishop, Charles Chuck to anyone that met him, attended Lindsay High School. There he met Diana Craven, and the couple married on September 12th, 1970. Five years later they welcomed their son, Bryan, to the world.

Chuck earned a degree in electronic engineering at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, and worked for numerous companies throughout his career before starting his own, MMI, which he ran for over 20 years. But Chuck was a people person first and foremost. With his constant smile, he had an intuitive understanding of how to connect with others and make them feel welcomed.

In his personal life, Chuck fell in love with the Big Island of Hawaii, which became his family's favorite destination.

From volcano sightseeing, to snorkeling, to an elaborate solar eclipse viewing trip, Chuck's family adventures in Hawaii were legendary, as was his collection of Hawaiian shirts. On the Big Island he also discovered a love of deep-sea fishing, leading to numerous boating trips as he sought after an elusive marlin. (He eventually landed one, but not before Diana bested him by catching a massive tuna years before.)

Most importantly, Chuck excelled at creating memories with those he loved, from decadeslong in-jokes, unforgettable football (Go Niners!) and baseball (Go Giants!) games, to holidays and trips filled with silliness, laughter, and love. He will be sorely missed by all that had the honor of knowing him.

Chuck is survived by his wife Diana, son Bryan and his wife Miranda. He is also remembered by numerous cousins, extended family, and dear friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Florence, and his sister, Jennifer Donaldson.

A graveside service will be held at the Lindsaystrathmore Cemetery on Monday, May 16th at 10am.
