Karen Demasters, 79, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away at her home with her family by her side on November 19, 2022. Karen was born on April 23, 1943, in Fort Scott, Kansas to Robert and Marguerite Taylor. Karen graduated from Washington Lee High School in Virginia in 1961.

Karen had an extremely caring heart. She dedicated most of her working life to caring for the developmen­tally disabled. During the last 15 years of her working life, she owned and operated a home for the people she loved to care for. Outside of work, Karen was a loving wife, mother, and friend. Karen enjoyed painting, jewelry design, kayaking, and fishing. Karen also enjoyed spending time on the farm tending her garden and playing with the goats. She also enjoyed the company of her husband, John and their little poodle, Bella.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, five siblings: Robert Charles Taylor, Keith Allen Taylor, Darlene Tabor, Infant Ernestine Taylor, and another infant girl. She is survived by her husband, John Demasters; her children: Christine Drumright (Steve) of Stockton, MO, Melinda Yoder (Christophe­r) of Sacramento, CA, Tamera Demasters of Lemoore, CA, and Chuck Demasters (Penny) of Lemoore, CA; 10 grandchild­ren; 15 great-grandchild­ren; two brothers: David Taylor and Russell Taylor of Bolivar, MO; one aunt, Andressa Clark, and numerous other relatives and friends. The family will hold a Celebratio­n of Life for Karen at a later date. Care of Karen has been entrusted to Pitts Chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Home.
