Esther Marquez James

Esther Marquez James lived her life to the fullest til April 22, 2023 in Encinitas, CA. Esther was born in Oakland, CA on March 27, 1941.

She is preceded by her loving Mother Mary Marquez and Father Jose Marquez and sister Josie Marquez Castillo.

She lived many years in Delano, California and for the last 40 years in Porterville, California. She was a certified license insurance broker for Mervin James Insurance Company and a Skin Care Consultant for Celesty Skin Care. Esther loved working with everyone in her local community and providing the best customer service as an Insurance Agent and helping others to look and feel great with her skin care products. She was an excellent communicator and person of knowledge in both fields. Everyone loved talking to her and spending time with her as she exhibited the utmost positive personality traits she was reliable, hardworking, honest, trustworthy, kind and incredibly uplifting and generous - always there for you with her beautiful smile!

She always had a positive word to help you feel better - she was everything you could imagine and more.

Esther always said that every person to her was just a friend she had never yet met. She loved being with family and friends, traveling and spending time in her beautiful garden.

Esther leaves behind many people who loved her dearly - her son, Joseph Cantu, grandson Joshua Matthew Cantu, Sister - Mary Ellen Marquez Castro, Brothers Bobby Marquez and Tony Marquez.

Along with many adoring Nieces and Nephews and loved ones including dear friends who were more like family than friends.

Esther's services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023. Rosary will begin at 9:30am and Mass at 10am @ St. Mary's Catholic Church located at 916 Lexington Street in Delano, California. Cemetery services at 11am at North Kern Delano Cemetery. Family and friends to gather at Delano Elks at 12pm.

She will be dearly missed by all - the Family thanks everyone for their prayers and thoughtfulness during this time.
