To Porterville’s Ela Panda who will be a speaker during a virtual meeting as part of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
To Local Hero Rob Boulton, a veteran and longtime educator, for being honored by the Porterville Quilters.
To the Sequoia Middle School seventh grade team for having one of the top scores in the Team Bowl Competition at the 51st annual Tulare County Math Super Bowl. Also to the Roosevelt Elementary School eighth grade team of Lindsay for having one of the top scores in the Team Bowl and to Sequoia’s Abigal Wynn and Strathmore Middle School’s David Galvan who were members of the top scoring seventh grade team in the Pro Bowl competition.
To Porterville High graduate Shyanne Rainey, a senior center with the Cal State Fullerton women’s water polo team, who was named the Big West Player of the Week for the week of February 21.
To Danalyn Alvarez Perez, Rashelle Jauregui-espinoza, Ashlynn Wilcoxson and Alyssa Ramirez, who were all named as Attendants on the Lindsay Orange Blossom Festival Court.
To the City of Porterville Parks and Leisure Services for the renovation and upgrades to the Porterville Skatepark at Veterans Park.
To the Tule River Parkway Association project manager Cathy Capone and the association and all the volunteers who made it possible for 25 trees to be planted along the parkway on Saturday.
To Leadership Porterville for its Denim and Diamonds event at Eagle Mountain Casino which raised funds for the Burton School District to develop a food and clothing pantry.
To all of the youth from Terra Bella, Hope, Saucelio, Rockford and Springville School Districts who have art featured in the youth art show at the Porterville Historical Museum.
To City of Porterville Public Works Director Michael Knight, Tulare County Sheriff’s Officers Michael Torres, Hector Negrete, Javier Montoya and Juan Lopez and Lindsay Police Officer Bruce Fox for being honored as Central Valley Heroes by the Red Cross. Knight was honored as the Good Samaritan Hero and the law enforcement officers were honored as First Responder Heroes.
