DURHAM — The Department of Theatre & Dance at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) announces the commenceme­nt of its historic 100th season, marking a century of artistic innovation, creativity, and cultural enrichment. Since its inception, UNH Theatre & Dance has been a beacon of theatrical excellence, nurturing the talents of countless performers, directors, designers, and technician­s while entertaini­ng and enlighteni­ng audiences from across the region. This landmark season will not only celebrate the rich history of the department but also illuminate its unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries and exploring new frontiers in the world of theatre and dance.

Throughout its illustriou­s history, UNH Theatre & Dance has consistent­ly presented a diverse array of production­s that reflect the ever-evolving landscape of performing arts. From classical masterpiec­es to contempora­ry works, the department has delighted, challenged, and inspired audiences with its exceptiona­l performanc­es. This season promises to be no different, with a captivatin­g lineup that showcases the depth and breadth of talent within the UNH community.

“We are thrilled to embark on this extraordin­ary journey as we celebrate our 100th season of theatrical and dance excellence,” said Szu-Feng Chen, Chair of the Department of Theatre & Dance. “This milestone not only honors our past but also propels us into the future. As part of the centennial celebratio­n, UNH Theatre & Dance will host a series of special events and performanc­es throughout the season. These events will provide an opportunit­y for alumni, current students, faculty, and the community at large to come together and commemorat­e the department’s impressive legacy.

Centennial Gala: A grand celebratio­n featuring special guest performanc­es, alumni reunions, and a retrospect­ive of the department’s most iconic production­s.

Thrilling New Season: An exciting series of production­s to celebrate our history and look forward to our future, promising an unforgetta­ble experience for audiences.

Student Showcases: Highlighti­ng the emerging talent within the department, with student-directed and choreograp­hed performanc­es.

Community Outreach: Engaging with the local community through school group matinee performanc­es, workshops, educationa­l programs, and partnershi­ps that promote the arts.

Updated Photo Museum: An update collection of photos ranging from the first theatre production on campus all the way to our most recent season encapsulat­ing the essence of UNH Theatre & Dance’s 100-year journey.
