Crime Writers On Podcast plans live show at the Word Barn in Exeter

-

EXETER — The podcasters of Crime Writers On, which recently marked their 500th episode, are coming to Exeter to record a live show at the Word Barn.

Named one of the Top 10 true crime podcasts to listen to by Rolling Stone Magazine, Crime Writers On is the original true crime review podcast. The live show is set for Saturday, April 6, at 8 p.m. and is an adjacent event to the Exeter LitFest taking place that weekend.

Each Monday and Thursday, New Hampshire crime writers Rebecca Lavoie, Kevin Flynn, Lara Bricker and Toby Ball dig into the hottest true crime and mystery shows, podcasts and pop culture. Then, the panel gives their own thumbs-up or thumbs-down reviews.

The crime writers will discuss “Death and Other Details,” a mystery drama recently featured on Hulu. A meetup will follow.

During the event, guests will learn how four New Hampshire crime writers become part of a podcast with a global audience.

Toby Ball is the author of the widely acclaimed City Trilogy, including "The Vaults," "Scorch City" and "Invisible Streets." He is also the host of the podcast Strange Arrivals from iHeartRadio and Grim and Mild.

Kevin Flynn is an Emmy awardwinning former television journalist and author of five true crime books with his wife, Rebecca Lavoie: “Wicked Intentions,” “Our Little Secret,” “Legally Dead,” “Notes on a Killing” and “Dark Heart.”

Lavoie is the director of On Demand Audio (podcasts) at New Hampshire Public Radio, as well as a podcast creator, critic, and host of Crime Writers On, and Netflix's “You Can't Make This Up” podcast.

Lara Bricker is a journalist, true crime author, private investigator, and certified cat detective. She is the author of the Piper Greene Exeter mysteries, “Dead on Deadline,” and “Final Curtain,” both of which were the bestselling books of the year at Water Street Bookstore.

Tickets to the event are available via the Word Barn's website.
