Pappas joins Rochester Child Care Center for Earth Day celebration
ROCHESTER – Democratic U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas visited Rochester Child Care Center to take part in its Earth Day celebration on Tuesday, April 22.
Pappas was joined by Cora-Lynn Hoppe, executive director of the Rochester Child Care Center, and Maria Finnegan, director of Climate and Health Initiative for Caregivers and Kids, as well as the center’s staff and families. The event featured nature crafts, food, and learning activities aimed to connect kids with the natural world and emphasize the role they can play in protecting our planet.
“New Hampshire’s strength and way of life are rooted in our natural surroundings, and that’s something Granite Staters of all ages can appreciate,” said Pappas. “I was glad to join Rochester Child Care Center for its Earth Day celebration. I want to thank community members for helping the next generation become passionate about the outdoors and readying them to take steps to protect the planet.”
“By connecting children with nature, we not only foster a love and appreciation for the environment but also inspire future generations to become stewards of the planet,” said Hoppe. “We were thrilled to have Congressman Pappas join us today to discuss the importance of preserving nature and combating climate change for a sustainable future. Developing policies that include sustainable practices for both children and the environment are needed to support our communities.”
The event was held in collaboration with NH Healthcare Workers for Climate Action’s Climate and Health Initiative for Caregivers and Kids.
