2022 Walk for the DAV to be held at Wicker Memorial Park
The members of Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 17 will host the annual Walk for the DAV on Saturday at Wicker Memorial Park, 8554 Indianapolis Blvd., Highland. Check-in and T-shirt pickup will begin at 8:30 a.m. Step-off is at 10 a.m.
The cost to participate is $25 for adults, $10 for students and children, and includes a T-shirt. All proceeds go directly to help local disabled veterans.
The family-friendly event is open to the public, and will feature the Indiana Patriot Guard’s Flag Display coupled with Indiana’s Fallen Heroes Tribute; a tribute to recently deceased members of DAV Chapter No. 17; live performances of the national anthem and Taps; and a post-race celebration.

Memorial Day train excursions
The Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum will offer Memorial Day train excursions, where passengers will interact with various soldier and civilians in historical displays, May 28 at 507 Mulberry St., North Judson.
On the museum grounds there will be numerous living-history reenactors, camps and displays, along with military vehicles provided by the Military Vehicles Preservation Society. Trains depart at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 and 2:30 p.m.
Advanced train reservations at www.hoosiervalley.org are recommended as seating is limited.
HVRM is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of railroading history and education.
