Man accused of sex with 13-year-old

A 20-year-old Gary man faces charges of child molesting and sexual misconduct with a minor.

Antonio L. Washington Jr. is accused of beginning a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl in February 2012. He was 18 at the time.

When the guardians of the victim discovered the relationship, they insisted he stop seeing her, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The guardians discovered the couple was still seeing one another after the victim was treated for a sexually transmitted disease, according to the affidavit.

Lake County prosecutors have filed two charges of child molesting and two charges of sexual misconduct with a minor against Washington Jr. for incidents between Feb. 1, 2012 and May 21, 2013.
