Was born on May 13, 1931 in Gary, Indiana to the late Clarence Wesley and Callie Jones. He attended Roosevelt High School and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the Penn Central Railroad Company and worked for Constructi­on Union Local 81. He made his transition on January 30, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 sisters, Maggie, Ethel, Yvonne, Mamie, and Gertha.

He leaves to cherish his loving wife of 58 years, Lillie (Hoover) Jones; 2 sons, Clarence Wesley Jones III (Judi), Ronald (Dee); 7 daughters, Cathy (Clint), Angela (Richard), Helen, Carol, JaNe’t (Darrin), Jamii (Kent), and Jawana; 28 grandchild­ren, and 33 great-grandchild­ren. He also leaves behind two sisters-in-law, Anna Lowery and Ella Hoover; one brother-in-law, Robert (Coran) Hoover Jr.; and a host of family and friends including Timothy Cusic Sr. and Tyshuan Barner.

Visitation Friday, February 7, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family hours from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Guy and Allen Funeral Chapel, 2959 West 11th Avenue, Gary, Indiana. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Davis Memorial A.M.E. Church, 4137 West 21st Avenue, Gary, Indiana. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
