Gary man fails to register as sex offender

-

A former Gary man was sentenced by Lake Superior Court Judge Salvador Vasquez to two years in prison for failure to register as a sex offender.

Michael C. Shoble, 33, admitted on April 9 he listed his address as Brother’s Keeper, a homeless shelter at 2120 Broadway, Gary. When a detective returned two weeks later to check on Shoble’s status, he learned from the shelter manager that Shoble had stayed only one night. Shoble was convicted in August 2005 in Porter County of sexual misconduct with a minor and is required to register as a sex offender for life.
