Man gets six years for child molesting

A Gary man was sentenced by Lake Superior Court Judge Samuel Cappas to six years for child molesting.

Leventes Avery Strong, 20, will serve four years in prison, followed by two years on probation, after he admitted he molested a girl between July 2011 and February 2013 at a home in Gary.

The molestation began when the girl was about 10 years old.

Strong had faced six to 20 years on the original charges, including child molesting, which were dismissed.
