Was born in West Point, Mississipp­i to the late Willie and Cerula Chandler on October 20, 1933. Graduate of Minister Institutio­n College, and a faithful member of Mount Hermon Missionary Baptist church, she served as a Longette, Choir member, and member of the Mothers board. Employed with Ball/Metro Glass, Mary was known as a loving kind woman and excellent cook to all who loved her.

Mary was called from her labor to rest on Saturday, August 23, 2014.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories: four daughters, Joyce (Prossie) Anderson, Sandy (Joseph) Brown, Emma Landon of Gary, IN, and Sharon (Kevin) Banks of East Chicago; one loving son, Eddie Landon of Indianapol­is, IN; two loving sisters, Alvernia (Tommy) Walker and Willie D. Addison both of Gary, IN; two devoted brothers, Lee (Irene) Chandler of West Point, MS, and Climel (Sandra) Chandler of East Chicago, IN; a special niece, Johnnie Mae (Ernest) King of East Chicago, IN, and a host of grandchild­ren, greatgrand­children, one great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services are Saturday, August 30, 2014 11:00 a.m. At Mount Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, 3601 Pennsylvan­ia Avenue, East Chicago, Indiana. Visitation one hour prior to funeral service. Rev. Darnell Johnson, Pastor, Officiatin­g. Interment Fern Oaks Cemetery, Griffith, Indiana. Divinity Funeral Home in charge of arrangemen­ts
