DEA raids Indianapolis medical clinic
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Authorities have raided an Indianapolis medical clinic to seize records and possible evidence of illegal distribution of controlled substances.
Drug Enforcement Administration Agent Sean Yauger says a task force of DEA and local police officers served a Marion County- issued search warrant at the Mapleton Medical Center on the city’s near north side.
A probable cause affidavit says the DEA received information that a doctor was prescribing controlled substances without a legitimate medical purpose and allowing a registered nurse to write similar prescriptions that had been either pre-signed by the doctor or forged with the doctor’s knowledge.
No charges have been filed.
A request for comment was emailed to the clinic, which was not open Friday.
