Of Gary, IN. Richard Cromwell, age 81, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus in Gary, IN. He was born to the late Leigh Bosley and Hattie Cromwell in Norfolk, VA.

Richard is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years of marriage, Bok Sun Cromwell; loving daughters, Allyson, Ava, Beverly, Naomi and Kimberly Cromwell; loving grandchild­ren, Adrienne, Anita, Ashley and Kameron; loving greatgrand­children, Alijah and Aleya; several other loving family members.

Richard was a member of the St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church for over thirty years, where he was a member of the Men’s Club and a Lay Reader. Richard served 22 years in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class and was a Combat Engineer Demolition Specialist. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, receiving two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars, among other awards. After retiring from the military, Richard taught in the Gary School System for over twenty years.

Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Main Chapel at the

Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, IN 46408, (219) 980-5555. Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, 2425 West 19th Avenue, Gary, IN 46404 with Father David L. Hyndman officiatin­g. Burial will be at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary, IN 46408.

Richard will be deeply missed by his loving, devoted family and precious friends. God Grant Him Eternal Peace.
