The LeFlore County Historical Society will have its fourth annual golf tournament on May 6 at Wolf Creek Country Club at 9 a.m. Check-in is at 8 a.m. This four-person scramble costs $75 per person or $300 per team.

The Cavanal Killer 8K run/walk will be May 7. The cost is $35 until April 22, after which it rises to $40. The race starts at 9 a.m. at Poteau Primary School at 407 Hughes Drive.

Howe and Cameron’s middle-school archery teams will have fundraiser­s for their trips to the NASP national tournament in Louisville, Ky. in May. Cameron’s fundraiser dinner and silent auction is Friday from 6-8 p.m. in its school cafeteria. Howe’s fundraiser lunch and bake sale will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday in its school cafeteria.

Poteau’s boys soccer team won 8-0 at Sallisaw on Friday. The win put the Pirates (5-3, 2-3 District 4A-4) within a game and a half of Cascia Hall (5-6, 3-1 district) and Hilldale (8-3, 3-1 district).

Poteau’s girls won 4-1 at Sallisaw.

Poteau plays at Regent Prep in Tulsa on Tuesday before returning home for its regular-season finale against Pryor on Friday.
