Whitworth wins; Poteau third at BB

Poteau took third at the Broken Bow Invitational on Monday at Cedar Creek Golf Course. Connor Whitworth earned the individual win, hitting 75 to beat Haworth’s Kody Carrell by a stroke. Ethan McBee hit 95. Nate Jordan hit 96. Wyatt Reece hit 108. Luke Culwell hit 103. Heavener’s Jeren Pickle, hitting 86.

Poteau will next compete at the Pryor Tournament at Pryor Creek Country Club on April 28 before going to regionals at Buffalo Rock Golf Course in Cushing on May 2.

Spiro’s Ethan Robbins and Heavener go to Atoka Golf Course for their Class 3A regional while Panama goes to Tishomingo Golf Course that day.

Poteau’s girls hit 500 at Pryor on Monday. Aubrey Duke hit 121. Jaylee Tacket hit 124.
