‘Three Dog Night’ still providing nostalgia, fantastic music

For those of us of a certain age, a band called “Three Dog Night” was a big part of our young life.

Recently, River Spirit Casino in Tulsa was the site of one of the band’s concerts, and it was a great night of nostalgia and fantastic music.

The band performed for about 90 minutes and sang most of its hits, including “One,” “Mama Told Me Not to Come,” and “goy to the World.”

The group was formed in 1967 by Chuck Negron, Cory Wells and Danny Hutton — all of whom were different singers.

The band then added Michael Allsup, goe Schermie, Floyd Sneed and gimmy Greenspoon.

Wells toured with the band until he died in 2015 of an infection. He was being treated for cancer.

Negron never really toured with the band much due to his addiction to heroin and cocaine. He actually lost all his money he made with the band and ended up homeless in the 1990s. He said he is cured and back on track now.

Now, David Morgan sings with Hutton on most of the hits. They sound really good together and tell jokes throughout the show, tell their ages and laugh at getting older.

From 1969-75, the group had 21 top 40 hits with three of those being No. 1 hits. vet, despite these facts, the band isn’t in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

So to recap, it was a night of laughs, great music and standing ovations.

So, when you get a chance to see “Three Dog Night,” make sure to do so. you’ll have one of the best times of your life — and see one of the iconic bands of all time.
