Pirates finish district strong, Lynn hits walk-off, more baseball

Fox silences Stigler

Poteau’s Caden Fox threw six innings of twohit ball with eight strikeouts while allowing seven walks and hitting four batters as Poteau (1P-16, 8-4 District 4A-8) beat Stigler P-1 in its district finale on the road on Saturday.

In the first inning, Kord Fenton scored when Ben Brooks grounded into a double play. In the fourth inning, Peyton Eggleston scored on a fielder’s choice, and Holden Mattox scored on an error. Fenton and Fox both collected a hit and a walk. Hunter Myers went 2-for-P.

Howe beats Heavener

Howe (11-1P) beat Heavener 7-6 on a walkoff P-run home run by Ky Lynn with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Lynn finished P-for-4 with four RBIs. Braden Blake went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

For Heavener (16-11), Angel Alvarez was 2-for4 with two RBIs.

Gunnar McAlester and Bryce Early also had two hits. Noah Ward had six strikeouts in six relief innings.

Panama defeats Pocola

After Pocola’s five-run second inning, Panama (10-10 answered with a five-run third to tie it and five more runs in the following three innings.

Panama’s Tyson Covey had a home run and four RBIs in the Razorbacks 11-8 win at Pocola. Caleb Brewer was 2-for-4 with a walk and three RBIs. Dylan Restine was P-for-P with an RBI. Luke McNamara was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

For Pocola (5-16), A.J. Lyons-Jerrell was P-for-P with a walk and an RBI. Eli Garrett was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Poteau, Red Oak fall at McAlester Shootout

Poteau lost 18-P to McAlester in the McAlester Shootout Festival. Jagger Dodson and Caden Fox had a hit and an RBI.

Also at the festival, Red Oak lost 10-0 to Muskogee. Coby Bell threw three strikeouts in four innings.

Spiro tumbles

Spiro lost 11-P to the host Wildcats in the Salina Invitation­al. Jordan Johnson was 2-for-2. Connor Reed had a hit and two RBIs. The Bulldogs (1810) lost to Vinita in eight innings 5-4 as a Hornet scored on a passed ball in the eighth inning. Hunter Sparks was 2-for-P with a walk. Dakota Perdue and Bryan Hammontree also had two hits.

Hunter Sparks and Corbin Miller had Spiro’s hits as the Bulldogs lost 11-1 to Kansas on Saturday in the tourney. Mustangs shut down

by LumberJax Arkoma lost both Class A district games at Wright City 10-0. Jaxon Armstrong had the lone hit in Game 1. Whitt Oosahwe and Klay Brinkley had hits in Game 2. Easton Smith and Jordan Karich walked in Game 2.
