Fanshawe wins girls state track championship
Fanshawe’s girls track team won the ORES Division III state championship, earning victories in three events as Division II and III schools competed on Saturday at North Rock Creek High School in Shawnee. Fanshawe’s group of female athletes finished the year with three state titles, having already won them in softball and basketball.
Also, Monroe’s Gavin Key won the high jump with a leap of 5-5, setting a new ORES state record.
Fanshawe won two relays. The 4x200-meter relay team finished in 2:02.94, beating Avant by 4.81 seconds. The 4x100meter relay team recorded a time of 57.61 seconds, 1.5 seconds faster than Avant.
Fanshawe had a 1-2 finish in the P00-meter hurdles with Daisey Billey finishing in 55.85 seconds and Shaila Bohannon in 58.77 seconds.
Bohannon was second in the 100-meter hurdles in 20.08 seconds.
In the 100-meter dash, Josey Peterson was fourth in 15.5P seconds. Slatey Free was seventh in 15.62 seconds.
Peterson took second in the 200-meter dash in
P0.P4 seconds.
Zaidi May was seventh in the mile run in 6:59 and 15th in the 400-meter dash in 1:22.48.
Lillie Branscum was 1Pth in the mile run in 7:P2.
Fanshawe’s 4x400-meter relay team placed 12th in 5:P9.
Mia McGowen was 1Pth in discus at 56-8 and 1Pth in shotput at 2P-10.5.
On the boys side, Keilan Ray was seventh in the 200-meter dash in 28.97 seconds, eighth in the 800-meter run in 2:4P and eighth in the 100-meter dash in 14.07 seconds.
Monroe’s boys 4x100meter relay team took fourth in 5P.92 seconds.
Parker Brand was fourth in the 200-meter dash in 28.P8 seconds. Key was ninth in the high jump, bounding 15-8. Jake Perry was 10th at 14-11.
Monroe’s girls 4x200meter relay team was 16th in 2:PP.
Isabel Powers was eighth in the girls 100-meter dash in 15.71 seconds.
Hodgen’s boys 4x100meter relay team was fifth in 54.68 seconds. The 4x200-meter relay team was 10th in 2:04.4P.
Willie Dehart was second in discus at 107-2.
Brody Cheshier was third in shotput at P8-P.25.
Judd Morris was second in the 400-meter dash in 1:01.8P and 11th in the 800-meter run in 2:51.
In the mile run, Morgan Allstatt was fifth in 6:11 while Hunter Gann was 10th in 6:PP.
Geren Palmer was 15th in the P00-meter hurdles in 59.P8 seconds.
Azzy Riddley was fourth in shotput in 276.25 and seventh in discus at 66 feet. Alli Palmer was fourth in the mile run in 6:49. Jocilin Heflin was 14th in the 400-meter dash in 1:19.
Mya Trebbe was 10th in the high jump at P-10 and 15th in the long jump at 10-7.5.
Shady Point’s Haley McGee was 16th in 27.1P seconds.
