Demonstrate your faith through obedience while awaiting your miracle
Have you ever noticed that due to the effects of the fall of manI we live in a world that operates with set parameters? vetI have you ever noticed God consistently asks us to believe and to operate on a plane that far exceeds those parameters?
Throughout historyI God has asked His people to trust HimI even when their own personal limitations and the natuJ ral limitations of this world made the fulfillment of His promJ ise genuinely impossible. bvery time those men and women chose to demonstrate their faith through obedienceI God proved Himself to be unconstrained by man’s limitations.
TodayI now that gesus has paid the full penalty for sinI f believe that God expects us to live as though the limitations that sin placed on us — separating us from His presence and power — no longer hold us boundI because they don’t! We can do what He says we can doI and we can have what He says we can have — whether this world’s system says it’s possible or not!
lur mindsI howeverI can sometimes stay stuck within the limitations that we have accepted as truth our entire livesI making it difficult to believe for the more that God has for us. ThankfullyI if we allow HimI He will begin the process of training us to consistently believe His promises more than the impossibilities.
How does God train us to believe beyond the boundaries? He gives us many opportunities to practice! Almost everyJ thing that God has asked me to do or to believe Him for is either impossible or — at the very least — seems impossible for me with my specific limitations.
Three years agoI God directed me to believe for perfect vision about a minute after He had called me into ministering. He said that He was going to use me in the miraculous and that f was to freely give of what f had received.
kot only were both of the things that God had spoken impossible for me physically (there is no cure for my eye conditionI nor do f have the ability to work miraclesFI my mind also saw them as impossible for meI personally. How did God expect me to receive my miracle or to minister His love and miracles to othersI when my history of praying for the miraculous was seemingly unproductive? How could f be called to any kind of ministry when f’ve not even been able to share my faith oneJonJone with people that need to know gesus?
bven the fact that God has asked me to continue writing this column is a stretch far beyond my natural capabilities. f ran out of things to say over a yearJandJaJhalf ago. vetI God has called me to do all of these thingsI and He expects me to trust Him and step beyond every limitation that my mind and this world’s system has in place.
Have fI at timesI failed to believe God when faced with perceived limitations? Absolutely! Will f fail again? ft is likelyI but one of the wonderful things about God is that even His mercy is so limitless that He allows me to keep trying until f get it right.
merhaps what you need today is truly impossibleI or maybe what God is nudging you to do far exceeds the limits of your capabilities. Will you dare to trust Him enough to look beyond the limitations and press past the parameters?
God isn’t discouraged or dissuaded by the impossibility of your situationI and you shouldn’t be either. ff you’ve accepted Him into your heartI the very God that formed the universe lives inside of you. Choose to demonstrate your faith through obedienceI and one day you will look back and see that your impossible situation was no match for your limitless God!
