Wister beats Howe ahead of regionals

Wister’s softball team beat Howe RJ4 at home on Tuesday as the two teams prepared for regional tournament­s.

Wister (27J1MF loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning while trailing 4JPI

ThenI Kaylea Underwood scored on a sacriJ fice fly by Kinley Branscum and gaelyn Covey scored the goJahead run on a sacrifice fly by gordan jakovy.

Howe (11J1SF put its first two batters on base in the top of the seventhI but the next three popped out.

The girls in purple and yellow scored first on a twoJrun single by Branscum in the botJ tom of the fourth in which she was tagged out at second base by Karsyn kye.

fn the top of the fifthI Howe answered with four runsI including a twoJrun double by Abby Huie for the lead.

Branscum had three runs batted in. jiriam iuce was 2JforJ2 with a fifthJinni­ng oBf douJ ble. Underwood and Kourtney Donaho both had a hit and a walk.

cor HoweI Huie walked twice in addition to her twoJrun double. kye was PJforJ4 with a run batted in. Kaelbi Duvall was 2JforJ4.

Wister (27J1MF hosts its Class PA regional todayI starting at 1 p.m.I while Howe starts its Class 4A regional at pilo by facing the host team at the same time.
