Vikings play catchup, get swept on road

Carl Albert State College’s baseball team was swept in a doublehead­er by Eastern Oaklahoma State College in Wilburton on Tuesday.

CASC (18-29) lost the first game 5-1. The Vikings trailed 5-1 by the fourth inning.

Matt Schilling drove in the lone CASC run with a single in the sixth inning. He finished 2-for-3.

For EOSC, Dalton Patten of Red Oak walked twice.

CASC lost the second game 10-7.

The Vikings trailed 5-0 through two innings before Isaac Carroll of Wister scored on an error in the third inning.

Reed Carroll was hit by pitch with the bases loaded in the fifth inning, making the score 5-2.

After EOSC scored in the bottom half of the inning, Breck Burris drove in Connor Wyatt with a single in the top of the sixth, making the score 6-3.

Isaac Carroll scored on a wild pitch to get the Vikings within 6-4.

After the sixth inning, CASC trailed 10-4. Schilling scored on an error, and Chance Noah of Red Oak scored on a wild pitch in the top of the seventh. Reed Carroll scored on a passed ball before the final out.

Schilling and Isaac Carroll both walked twice. Reed Carroll had two runs batted in. Breck Burris walked twice, had a hit and drove in a run.

For EOSC, Patten was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

CASC goes to Tishomingo for a doublehead­er against Murray State College on Thursday, starting at 1 p.m.

The Vikings will host the Aggies for a doublehead­er on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m.
