CASC splits at home with MSC

Carl Albert State College’s baseball team won one of two games at home against Murray State College on Saturday, winning the finale to avoid a series sweep. CASC (19-32, 11-17 Region 2) won 7-4 with strong pitching and defense. The Vikings avoided errors while Riley Lowry allowed two hits and four walks with five strikeouts in the first three innings and Coby Griener allowed four hits and two walks with six strikeouts in six reilief innings. CASC had a three-run first inning with Chance Noah of Red Oak knocking a two-run double. After two MSC runs in the top of the fourth inning, CASC had three runs in the bottom of the fourth, including a tworun double by Matt Schilling for a 6-2 lead. Dylan Debuty was 3-for-4 with a walk and an run batted in. Breck Burris walked three times. CASC lost the first game 14-6, trailing 8-3 through two innings. Dylan Debuty hit a pair of two-run home runs. Noah was 2-for-3 with a walk. CASC hosts Connors State College on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
