John Charlton

Funeral service for John Charlton, 82, of Mena, Ark., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Rev. Jeremy Jones officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Cameron under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home.

John was born July 17, 1939, in Smithville to Pearl (Osborne) and Jesse Charlton and passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, in Fort Smith, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Rose Childers and

Sylvia Coffey and brother William Charlton.

John enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and yard work.

Survivors include daughter Kelley Johnson and husband Steve, son John Gregory Charlton and wife Jennifer, sisters Ruby, Francis, Betty Jo and Mary, brother Tom Charlton and grandchildren Joshua Charlton, Fionula Charlton, Gage Morrison and Briana Johnson.
