OSDH announces local Certified Healthy Award winners
The Oklahoma State Department of Health announced Wednesday its local Certified Healthy Award winners.
Choctaw Nation Child Care Development in both Poteau and Talihina received an excellent rating as did Poteau Health and Wellness Center, Choctaw Nation Head Start. Shady Point Schools and Clayton High School.
Howe Public Schools received a merit rating.
Applicants received a comprehensive assessment to gauge how effectively they are supporting health, with a special focus on strategies that address physical activity, nutrition, tobacco use and mental health.
