The Cavanal Killer, an event operated by the Poteau Chamber of Commerce, saw 283 participants finish the 8K run/ walk to the top of Cavanal Hill on Saturday.

Josh Snyder won it in 43:25.

His son, Stihl, took second place in 46:16. Kendal Repas was third in 47:55. Fred James was fourth in 49:05.

Micaiah Wagner was fifth in 50:04.

Five seconds later, Pamela Dombek finished as the top female. April Shroff was the second female, finishing in 52:02. Madison Parks was the third female, finishing in 55:40.

I had hoped to do the Cavanal Killer and a 5K in Van Buren, Ark., on Saturday, but the 5K in Van Buren was canceled due to the park flooding and I wasn’t physically 100 percent that morning.

I’ll be ready to do my second Cavanal Killer next year.

Upcoming tournament

schedule

The LeFlore County Bass Club Junior Bassmasters tournament scheduled for Saturday was postponed to a later date due to high water.

There will be an LCBC Junior Bassmasters tournament on Sunday, launching from the gravel ramp in Keota.

The LCBC club tournament that will be Saturday at Lake Eufaula will launch away from Highway 9 East since the ramp is closed due to high water.

All Anglers will be allowed to trailer for the event.

The cost is $50 per angler. Bucky McGee will take money at the E-Z Mart at the four-way stop in Enterprise from 4:455:40 a.m.

Anglers must pay there during that time. Weigh-in will be at the Highway 9 North ramp at 3 p.m.

Anglers may only trailer once and cannot begin fishing until 6 a.m.

If you have questions, contact McGee at 918635-0909, Cody Ramsey at 918-649-7361 or Dennis Roper at 918-653-7504.

The next open tournament will be May 21 at Wister Lake, launching from Ward’s Landing.
