Pocola’s boys basketball camp will be May 19-20 at the Pocola High School gym for boys from any school entering first through sixth grade.

The first- and secondgrad­e portion is 9-10:30 a.m. The third- through sixth-grade part is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The cost is $25 if signed up and paid by Friday and $30 at the camp. All campers will receive a shirt.

Offensive and defensive fundamenta­ls will be taught, and there will be competitiv­e games.

Pocola’s softball team will ahve an adult co-ed softball tournament on May 21 to raise money for its slow-pitch state championsh­ip rings. The tournament starts at 9 a.m. at the Pocola High School softball field. Registrati­on is $200 per team. A cash prize will be given to the winning team.

No senior league bats are allowed. Team compositio­n can be five men and five women or six men and four women. Contact Eddie Combs at 479-9260281 for more informatio­n.

Howe is hosting a girls basketball camp May 2325 that is open to female students of any school. The cost is $50 and includes a shirt. The camp is open to girls entering fourth through ninth grade.

The camp will focus on individual skill developmen­t, teaching skills that will be used in practices every day.

Girls entering pre-kindergart­en through eighth grade from any school can participat­e.

Register by Thursday and return it at Pocola Schools. If the form is completed after that, it can be returned to Jennifer Jerrell or Christi Smith.

The Poteau Kiwanis Club Golf Tournament will be May 27 at Wolf Ridge Country Club. Registrati­on is at 9 a.m. Tee time is at 10 a.m. Entry for this three-person scramble is $195.

Hole sponsorshi­p costs $100. There will be prizes for first and second place in each flight, closest to the pin and putting.

The Heartland AllStar Baseball Classic will be June 28-29 at Connors State College’s Biff Thompson Field in Warner. The tryout for the event, which open to boys entering ninth through 12th grade, is June 7 at 9 a.m.
