Funeral service for Anita Joy Barber, 88, of Poteau will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2022, at Poteau First Free Will Baptist with Jim Cook and Corey Thompson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Les Cofer, Kyle Cofer, David Rose, David Norris, Eddie Slate and Kevin Gee.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Hendricks, Russell Barber, Ron Barber, Bob Lindstrom and Phillip Zearley.
Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
Anita was born on April 18, 1934, in Poteau to Esther Pearl (Cox) Cofer and Martin Wade Cofer and passed away on May 10, 2022, in Poteau.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Tony Kerbow, second husband Bill Barber and sister Wadene Ward.
She attended First Free Will Baptist, 20th Century Club and The Women’s Auxiliary as well as being a teller at Central National Bank, a professional shopper and Neal McCoy’s No. 1 fan.
Survivors include daughter Trayce Kerbow Riley, grandchildren Tristin Riley and Tony and Misty Riley, great-grandchildren Kainan Riley and Kaydi Riley, sister Shirley Slate and Joe, brothers David Cofer and Ron Cofer and Marsha, extended family John and Janita Hendricks and family, Russell and Belva Barber and family, Ron and Debbie Barber and family, beloved caretakers Kathy Vineyard, Charlee Rust, Vernon and Ruby Midgley and Kay Cusick, numerous nieces and nephews and host of loved ones and friends.
Viewing and visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Evans and Miller Funeral Home.
