Five LeFlore County baseball players made All-District 3A-7. Spiro’s Gannon Shackleford was named Defensive Player of the Year.
Also, Spiro’s Jared Huff and Blake Dedmon and Heavener’s Gunnar McAlester and Trevor Grubbs made All-District.

Pocola’s boys basketball camp will be Thursday and Friday at the Pocola High School gym for boys from any school entering first through sixth grade.
The first- and secondgrade portion is 9-10:30 a.m. The third- through sixth-grade part is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cost is $30 at the camp. All campers will receive a shirt.
Offensive and defensive fundamentals will be taught, and there will be competitive games.

Shakyra Gladness, who played in high school for Spiro and Pocola, had a hit and drove in a run in Seminole State College’s 2-1 win against Northern Oklahoma CollegeTonkawa on Friday and a walk in the finale on Sunday that SSC won 8-0 to earn the NJCAA Division I Region 2 championship.

The Whitesboro softball and baseball camp, which is for any student entering first through fifth grade, will be May 19 and 23 from 1-3 p.m. at the Whitesboro softball and baseball fields.
The Whitesboro basketball camp, which is for any student entering first through fifth grade, is May 24-25 at the Whitesboro gyms from 1-3 p.m.
All campers will receive shirts.

Pocola’s softball team will ahve an adult co-ed softball tournament on Saturday to raise money for its slow-pitch state championship rings.
The tournament starts at 9 a.m. at the Pocola High School softball field. Registration is $200 per team. A cash prize will be given to the winning team.
No senior league bats are allowed.
Team composition can be five men and five women or six men and four women.

Howe is hosting a girls basketball camp May 2325 that is open to female students of any school. The cost is $50 and includes a shirt.
The camp is open to girls entering fourth through ninth grade.
The camp will focus on individual skill development, teaching skills that will be used in practices every day.

The Poteau Kiwanis Club golf tournament will be May 27 at Wolf Ridge Country Club. Registration is at 9 a.m. Tee time is at 10 a.m. Entry for this three-person scramble is $195. Lunch is provided.
Hole sponsorship costs $100. There will be prizes for first and second place in each flight, closest to the pin and putting.

The Poteau Kiwanis Club Learn to Swim program starts June 7 and is Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the month, ending on June 30. The program is free.
Registration will be 9 a.m. on June 7. Depending on how many children sign up, there could be two sessions each day, 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.

The Heartland AllStar Baseball Classic will be June 28-29 at Connors State College’s Biff Thompson Field in Warner. The tryout for the event, which open to boys entering ninth through 12th grade, is June 7 at 9 a.m.

The Spider Webb Memorial Golf Tournament will be June 10-12 at Wolf Ridge Country Club.
The cost is $550 or $500 if the team has a personal cart.
Included are the Saturday team horserace for qualified teams, postround hospitality on Saturday, on-course beverage stations, flight payouts, closest-to-hole prizes and tee gifts for each player.
June 10 is the practice round with tee times available all day. Registration begins at noon.
June 11 is the first tournament round with tee times at 9 a.m. Teams can still register that day at 7 a.m. The lowest two scores will qualify for a sudden death alternate shot team horserace. June 12 is the second round.

The Poteau Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic will June 17 at Wolf Creek Country Club. Tee time will be 9 a.m. This is a two- or four-person scramble.
The cost is $140 per two-person team or $70 per person. Lunch, beverages, snacks, cart and greens fees are included.
Pre-register by June 3 to get a polo shirt.
