Spiro’s Peterson, Blankenship join Southwestern for basketball

Spiro’s Braxton Peterson and Lily Blankenship signed with Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., for basketball on Monday.

Blankenship earned second-team NOAA AllConference this year, and Peterson was named to the third team.

Petersons is the son of is the son of Kristie Peterson and the late Steve Peterson. Blankenship is the daughter of Trinka Blankenship and Eddie Blankenship.

Southwestern College’s men’s basketball program went 25-8 this season, reaching the NAIA national tournament, losing in the first round. SC’s women’s basketball team went 2-29 this season.
