Softball

BV wins three at Wilburton Festival Buffalo Valley (6-0) won all three of its games at the Wilburton Festival.

On Friday, BV beat Antlers 7-0. Hannah Dockery hit a home run and had four runs batted in. Courtney Grey pitched a fiveinning two-hitter with 12 strikeouts.

On Saturday, BV beat McAlester 2-0. Kelsey Cauthron and Addi Wright combined on a no-hitter. Cauthron allowed two walks while throwing eight strikeouts in four innings. Wright pitched a perfect fifth. Dockery went 2-for-2.

BV beat Wilburton 111.

Grey struck out eight batters in three innings. At the plate, she doubled twice and had two RBIs. Cady Myers went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Howe takes second in Big 8 Tourney

Howe finished as the Big 8 Conference Tournament runner-up after losing 6-4 to Oktaha on Friday.

Howe (4-2) took a 3-2 lead on a run-scoring single by Kaydence Delt in the third inning, but Oktaha retook the lead in the fourth on a two-run double.

Joz Johnson and Gracie Lute both went 3-for-4 with Lute driving in a run.

In round robin action, Howe beat Westiville 21-0 and Oktaha 4-1 on Thursday and lost 3-1 to Sallisaw Central before beating Vian 4-1 on Friday.

Lute went 2-for-2 with an RBI against Oktaha on Thursday.

Red Oak knocks Kansas

After beating Poteau, Red Oak (3-0) earned its second win of the Wilburton Festival 8-3 against Kansas on Friday.

Graciee Noggle, Kaytee Hood and Courtney Adams both went 2-for3 with two RBIs. Kaylee Cannon, Hayden White and Jayla King also had two hits.

White had eight strikeouts in six innings.

Heavener falls on road

Heavener (1-2) lost 8-2 at Tishomingo on Friday.

McKinley Alexander and Cayleigh McGee both went 2-for-4 with Alexander driving in a run. Paisley Stacy had a hit, a walk and an RBI.

Arkoma falls at Porum

Arkoma (0-4) lost 14-0 at Porum on Friday. Kaydence Batt was 2-for-2. Kiarra Butler also had a hit.

Wister drops three

of four in Ripley

Wister lost three of four games in the Ripley Tournament.

On Friday, Wister (1-5) won 3-0 against Lindsay. Maggie Wilson threw a five-inning one-hitter with eight strikeouts.

She also hit a two-run home run and walked. Kinley Branscum had a hit and a walk.

Wister lost 9-0 to Silo. Kaylea Underwood and Haven Brown had hits.

That night, Wister lost 3-2 to Hydro-Eakly.

Branscum, Brown, Wilson, Jordan Makovy and Hattie Pate each had two hits.

Underwood threw eight strikeouts in the four-inning game.

On Saturday, Wister lost 4-1 to Amber-Pocasset.

Branscum tripled. Underwood and Mia McGowen also had hits.

Keota wins two on road

Keota (3-1) beat Wetumka 10-2 and Crowder 13-7 at Crowder on Friday.

Skyler Corley went 3-for-3 against Wetumka with six RBIs. Jayla Lester and Kallie Norrid both walked three times.

Against Crowder, Corley had a three-run home run. Lester and Javen Christenbe­rry both had two RBIs.

Baseball McCurtain seventh in CASC Tourney

McCurtain (2-3) held off Cameron for a 7-6 win in the seventh-place game at Howe on Saturday.

Cameron (0-4) rallied in the bottom of the sixth inning with a three-run triple by Mason Francis and a sacrifice fly by Gavin Morgan, but was unable to keep the rally going.

In the losers bracket on Friday, McCurtain beat LeFlore 20-12 after LeFlore led 6-0 through three innings. McCurtain had an eight-run fourth and a 12-run fifth.

Braydan Ward went 3-for-3 with two walks and four RBIs. Luke Sandlin was 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.

LeFlore’s Taymon Vocque was 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Torben Vocque and Rabbit Holly both had two hits and two RBIs.

Afterwards, McCurtain lost 12-4 to Ripley.

Bokoshe falls on road

Bokoshe lost 12-0 at Smithville on Friday.

Asher Emerson and Brock Crase drew walks. Smithville’s Isaac Culwell had a hit, two walks and an RBI.
