Girls basketball Panama holds off Wister

Despite missing both of its seniors, Hailey Blair and Krista Dotson, Panama (6-2) beat Wister 4943 at home.

After trailing 17-9 at the end of the first quarter, Panama came within 25-21 by halftime as Koda Robbins scored six of her 17 points in the second quarter.

Wister (4-8) led 3630 at the end of the third quarter.

Panama held Wister to a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter. Panama’s Lexi Bell scored six of her 11 points in the final frame. Karli Anderson and Sky Bluford both finished with six points. Ryleigh Pierce added five.

Cameron escapes

Arkoma

Cameron earned a 4435 come-from-behind win at Arkoma.

Arkoma led 27-26 at the end of the third quarter.

Kiarra Butler led Arkoma with 12 points. Kaitlyn Glasgow had six points and five rebounds. Rylee Hayes had two points and seven rebounds.

LeFlore prevails

at McCurtain

LeFlore won 34-28 at McCurtain.

McCurtain led 10-9 at the end of the first quarter before LeFlore gained a 14-13 halftime edge finished the third quarter ahead 24-21.

LeFlore’s Piper Warren scored eight of her game-high 15 points in the fourth quarter. Trystan Kirkes had seven points while River Cogburn had six and Harley Robinson had five.

Kaylee Culwell led McCurtain with 10 points while Avrie Ford had seven.

Boys basketball Wister extends big start

Wister (9-3) earned its best start in the past few years with a 61-51 win at Panama.

Wister led 15-11 at the end of the first quarter before Panama seized a 2422 edge by halftime.

Wister gained a 41-38 lead by the end of the third quarter.

Wister’s C.J. Halford scored 11 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter. Cole Vaughn led Wister with 22 points.

Riley Crane had 10 points while Wyatt Peterson had six and Landon Donaho had four. Brex Caldwell led Panama with 19 points. Gavin Gotes added 12 points while Brendin Nixon had seven. Arkoma beats Cameron

Arkoma (4-3) beat Cameron 66-33 at home.

Arkoma led 25-16 at halftime.

Deuce Walden had 25 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Braylen Andrews had 12 points and eight rebounds. Carl Brake had six points, 12 rebounds and four assists. LeFlore edges

McCurtain LeFlore (6-5) hung on for a 58-57 win at McCurtain.

McCurtain led 17-12 at the end of the first quarter, 29-28 at halftime and 4641 through three quarters.

LeFlore’s Braden Pritchett scored nine of his 21 points in the fourth quarter.

Bo Dacus added 10 points while Cameron Green had eight, Luke Herrell had six and Rabbit Holly and Rylan Luman each had four.

Ben Bond led McCurtain with 18 points while Zane Cooper had 15.
