Spiro High School graduate Tylor Perry and Kansas State will face Iowa in the first round of the men’s NIT on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Perry was named the NIT Most Valuable Player last year after leading North Texas to the NIT championship.

Kayley Turner of Howe had five points and two rebounds in Connors State College’s 75-55 win against Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa in the NJCAA Region 2 semifinal on Friday.
On Saturday, Turner had five points in Connors State College’s 85-60 win against Eastern Oklahoma College in the Region 2 championship game. Connors State College (29-4) will face Southern Idaho in the NJCAA Division I women’s basketball tournament on Saturday at 10:15 p.m.

The Poteau League baseball and softball coaches meeting was postponed to March 25 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

Cameron’s middle-school and high-school archery teams will have a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on March 28 from 5-8 p.m. in the school cafeteria with the silent auction from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The cost is $5.
The archery teams will travel to Salt Lake City, Utah, in April for the national competition. To-go plates are available.

Cameron School will have a barbecue dinner benefit for retired baseball coach and superintendent John Long on April 7 from noon -4 p.m. at the Cameron School cafeteria to help him with medical expenses. There will also be a silent auction. Live music will feature OK Moon and Friends.
